Reflux: Your history says you have reflux. With laryngopharyngeal reflux or "extraesophageal reflux", acid makes its way up the throat and "burns" the delicate tissues, causing a sensation that something is caught in your throat, that you can't swallow properly, that you have to clear your throat etc. Don't smoke or eat for 2-3 hrs before bed. See your doctor to be sure if reflux medicine isn't helping.
