Well: Both of these medications can lead to tolerance. It can become easy to fall back on them more and more when anxious. There are a series of unhealthy side effects that can occur with Ambien (zolpidem) (like sleep walking, sleep eating & even driving a vehicle while asleep). It is only meant for short term use. Have you looked into cognitive behavioral therapy or other meds?
