Fluid, fluid, fluid.: Trauma and medications are typical causes of mscule breakdown (rhabdomyolysis)..If the muscle enzyme (ck) level is less 10000, it is not likely to harm the kidneys. Keeping adequate hydration is all the is needed. If ck >10k or 15k level, more aggressive IV fluid is needed to force-diuresis and remove it as high level of this (ck/myoglobin) can be renal-toxic...
