Should be seen: A yellowish skin color may represent jaundice or may just be skin tone depending on ethnicity. Jaundice is related to a problem with bilirubin metabolism. Some present at birth and some days to weeks later. Some jaundice is benign but others have more serious causes. It is best to have a medical provider decide if it is jaundice and perform any needed testing.
