Many causes: Chest pain can be from various causes. Some include the heart arteries, heart muscle, pericardium or heart rhythm problem. Pain from the esophagus, chest wall, or lung can also cause chest pain. Chest pain may be felt as pressure, burning, stabbing, dull, throbbing, or constant. Pain may go into the shoulder or arm. The cause will need to be figured out so that healing and recovery can occur.
