It sure could: Babies don't always lay straight in the uterus. As he or she continues to grow, they become more visible and may be seen to lay to one side more than another. Eventually they get so big and crammed in that they're just a tight ball and sort of confined to the middle because they take up all the space. Mention this to your OB on your next visit to get their take on this as well.
