I took a pregnancy test 31 days after previous menstral cycle using mid day urine. is this a reliable answer?

Possibly: If positive then it is reliable if negative you may want to test with a first morning urine which is more concentrated and would be more likely to pick up a positive than a midday urine.

Not necessarily: Pregnancy tests will usually turn positive 14 days after conception. If you ovulated and conceived after cycle day 17 the test might not yet turn positive.
