Your hypertesion: And pcos are both negatively impacted by your weight. You need to pursue dietary restriction and exercise to lose weight. Consider metformin as a treatment for pcos. Also your current hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) will worsen your Insulin resistance, which is the basic metabolic defect of pcos. It will also increase your lipid intolerance. Ask your doc about using higher lisinopril, +/- nonthiazi9de diuretic.

HBP at age 17: Hypertension in a 17 year girl is abnormal. It may due to secondary causes (s). Factors to be evaluated are: a coarctation of the aorta, conn's syndrome and a renal artery stenosis, among others. Have her see a pediatric nephrologist to have these ruled out. While it may be possible that, if she is obese, she may have essential hypertension, it is best to see if a s cause exists and treat it.
