Herbs: This brings up the important subject of the use of herbal products in pregnancy . Keep in mind that herbal products are not fda tested or regulated and therefore safety profiles are not known. Your tea is likely ok but even if you know the ingredient list safety cannot be stated. Use at your own risk

Check ingredients: Women can safely have many herbal teas. Herbs to avoid include: anise, ginger, lime blossom, rose hip, catnip, chamomile, comfrey, ephedra, mistletoe, hibiscus, horehound, lemongrass, licorice, mugwort, pennyroyal, raspberry leaf, rosemary, sage, sassafras, stinging nettle leaf, vetiver. Read your packaging. Often small amounts are okay. Check with your doctor or bring your tea to your appt.
