Probably not: Menstrual flow for most women not on birth control pills averages 4-7 days of flow. More than 7 days is called menorrhagia. If this is a new finding and persistent, an evaluation may be in order to rule out more serious causes of heavier menstrual flow, especially as women age past 35 years.
