Depends: It depends on whether the cause is trauma, you burned or hit it with food or your tooth brush or if the cause is an infection. For a trauma time, steroid creams prescribed by your dentist and warm water rinses should take care of the problem for an infection see your dentist. If the cause is an apthous ulcer or herpetic cause, your dentist can help you there as well.
