Bottle position: Yes, it is ok to take a bottle in any position. Just make sure the bottle is held so the baby is not taking in a bunch of air.

No: Drinking flat is a major cause of ear infections. A bottle should not be propped for a 5 month old the child should be held. Then the head would be at an appropriate angle and both mom and child wil get more cuddle bonding time that is so important at this age
