Yes, both: If the ejaculate drains out, it is going wrong way and is not able to fertilize egg. Place pillow under hips after intercourse (during as well if you want) for about 10 minutes to change angle of pelvis (/vagina) so semen will move inward to facilitate process. It is common and does significantly reduce the #s available for the journey onward, but not 'all' drain out. Pillow-assist after sex.
