Genetic component : As we learn more about genetics and epigenetics it appears that for many patients with this diagnosis there are genetic causes. They are not easy to identify in many cases and having a genetic susceptibility does not mean a disorder will definitively manifest in obvious signs. For some environmental triggers "allow" the genetic tendencies to produce the signs we associate with aspergers.
