Dacryocystitis: Dacryocystitis is an infection in the tear sac just under the bone next to the inside corner of your eyelids. It's often caused by a blockage of the tear drainage system. If present, this needs to be treated promptly with oral antibiotics. Patients who have this infection caused by a blockage often need a surgical procedure to open the blocked tear system.
