Unlikely: In decades of treating both i find no correlation between add meds like methylphenidate and new onset encopresis. Most encopresis can be traced back to slow transit elimination patterns as early as infancy and intermittant problems from then forward.By school age it becomes aggravated by the kids decision to avoid empting at school.Management of both issues by a behavioral ped is helpful.
