A member asked:

I found out that tea can be used topically to help treat pink eye. does the tea have to be warm? can it be cold? like after being refrigerated.

Little effect: Pink eye is mostly a viral infection similar to the common cold but in the eye. Teas of various sorts will have no direct curative effect but may give some relief of the symptoms. Best to use a washcloth soaked in either warm or cool tea but your pink eye will run its course whether or not steeped in tea.

No: Tea is not useful for treating pink eye. It is useful as a refreshing drink.
