May be normal: Any skipped birth control pill may initiate a cycle of abnormal uterine bleeding. The hormone dosages in modern bcp are so low that even skipping one may imbalance the entire cycle. If persistent, a change to a higher dose bcp may be required to normalize the menstrual cycle.
