Bleeding out of rectum, feels like having bm but it's all blood- collected sample for dr should it be refrigerated or room temp? does it matter?

Need visual exam: Stool samples can be stored at room temp but if you are having bleeding as described without diarrhea, then you really need to have it evaluated by some form of endoscopy. This can mean proctoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy in a doctors office or a full colonoscopy. If the sample is being tested for blood, that can be done at home with a number of stool blood tests that can be done at home.
