Depends!: Do you want reversible or irreversible? 3 non-hormonal methods come to mind besides making your partner do something eg wear condom or get vasectomy. Diaphragm is reversible immediately. Iud is reversible eventually. Paragard is the copper version (http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/paragard/my00997). Essure is a pair of coils permanently placed in your fallopian tubes. IUD/Implant: Regardless of your age, blood pressure, family history, or smoking status, the most effective and safest methods of birth control are long-acting progestin-only methods, such as the implant or the hormonal IUD, which decrease rates of endometrial cancer and decrease bleeding. They're safe, reversible, and don't affect weight gain/mood. They're almost as good as getting sterilized
