A member asked:

Is it possible to give a bladder infection to your sexual partner?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: In general, you cannot transmit a standard urinary tract infection (bladder infection) from one individual to another via intercourse. This is excluding transmission of various sexually transmitted diseases. In some cases for women, intercourse can increase the risk of developing a bladder infection. Some of these patients take a single antibiotic tablet after intercourse to decrease the risk.
