Unlikely: If you have had an overbite your entire life and you pain just started, your overbite is probably not the cause. I would recommend seeing your dentist as you may have a cavity, cracked tooth, or infection that needs to be treated. Your dentist is the best person to help figure out where the pain is from and tell you how to make it go away.

I was chewing gum and I think I bit down too hard and my tooth/jaw made a noise and now when I chew my food and feel like I have a sensitive tooth. When I prod it with my finger, it also hurts. I can't feel any cracks, though.
So I have an issue. Some of the back teeth in my lower jaw on the left side hurts if I chew down on food or if I brush my tongue on it. It happens for a day, stops for a few weeks, then picks back up. It's not a sharp pain, more like a dull pinching pain.
