Usually like anyone: Just because someone has bipolar disorder does not mean that they will have an episode due to the loss of a relationship. If you feel the need to break up with them then do so, firmly and directly. If the person has a history of anger or violence then arrange for safely leaving the relationship first. You are not responsible for their symptoms or anger.
