Prostate cancer: Gleason system is used by pathologists when diagnosing prostate cancer. The score varies between 2 and 10. Tumors less than 6 are considered less aggressive, 6-7 intermediate and 8-10 aggressive. In combination with other factors such as age, size of tumor, spread of cancer, the gleason score is an excellent tool to formulate treatment and assess how well the person will do.
