Further testing: At this point follow-up and further testing would be appropriate. Re-examination, x-rays, and then possible bone scan, mri, and/or ct scan. A diagnosis must be established, then perhaps the problem can be solved with directed treatment.

Likely: Something soft tissue or something that doesn't show on x-ray. Get MRI and see your doctor. Where does it hurt?

Something is not : Healed yet. You need to see your doctor again, for more workup. Repeat radiographs may show evidence of a stress fracture. You may also benefit from a 3 phase bone scan or mri. After establishing a diagnosis, you may find appropriate physical therapy can get you back to training as soon as possible.
