Could be : Many things. Has it grown recently? Is it raised or flat? Has it changed color? It could be serious if the answers are yes though you didn't mention how long its been there. Could be a simple nevis.

Probably nothing: This is probably benign pigmented lesion. If you are really concerned or if it changes you should get an exam pnad possible biopsy. If it is larger than the size of a pencil eraser you should have it looked at by a dermatologist.
