I have pvd. would scuba diving causes retinal detachment?

Shouldn't: But you (and any scuba diver) should try to avoid mask squeeze.

No. Retinal tears do: On initial diagnosis, we advise that patients refrain from certain physical activities and lifting. This is because a retinal tear can develop and evolve into a retinal detachment. If the PVD is old, and there are no other defects in the retina, scuba diving and other activities are okay. If you are unsure, you should have a dilated retinal exam by your eye specialist.

Probably Not: Unlikely, particularly if you have already had a posterior vitreous detachment.
