A member asked:

I have been diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease. how long before i'll need dialisis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You can postpone: Besides age of 56 need to know your GFR , associated systemic diseases . You are diabetic , and hypertensive you they are culprits must bring them to normal levels , with best care , reduced protein -urea if your GFR is 36 or so ( higher is better ) you loose 1% per year under best care , now you calculate and postpone for 5 or more years good luck.
