Go to hospital now: Right now, it's a sunday evening so i doubt that your doctor's office is open. Regardless, s/he would most likely refer your husband to a radiologist for ultrasound to look for bleeding or torsion. Or perhaps pain is due to coincidental infection. Regardless, hospital er can expedite his evaluation. This is not something that can wait until monday morning.

See below: I would suggest going to an urgent care center for an evaluation. Either this or a urological specialist to make sure that there is not further injury.
