Approximately 90 %of the ruptured aneurysms are in the anterior circulation. Poorly controlled blood pressure is the most common trigger that initiates rupture. Not all aneurysms rupture, small aneurysms less than 5 mm typically do not need surgery/coiling, but must be followed.

No: Most aneurysms are congenital, meaning present at birth. Many produce no symptoms. Those that produced symptoms either bleed or enlarge and produce trouble. Hypertension is the most frequent cause of bleeding and or enlargement. Control ht! blood thinners may cause otherwise silent aneurysms to go bad.
