A member asked:

I'm 33 weeks pregnant, what is the best thing to take for heartburn?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Variety of options: There are a variety of options available. Tums or rolaids or generic equivalent can be effective. A brand or generic anti-histamine like Pepcid or zantac (ranitidine) are also good. If neither of those types of medications work, you will want to see your doctor. It's very common to have heartburn. Avoid foods that cause it, eat slowly and try not to eat a few hours prior to sleep, and stay hydrated.
