Probably not: Extra heart beats are generally harmless and don't necessarily indicate a serious problem but they can be very uncomfortable. You should see your doctor if the discomfort is continuous, if you get lightheaded/faint or if you have chest pain that lasts more than a minute or so. Sometimes these extra beats are made worse by stress, lack of sleep, or use of stimulants. Avoid excess caffeine.
