Constipation: Make sure you're eating healthy, getting regular exercise, drinking lots of fluid & eating lots of fiber. Check w/your family doc to make sure your thyroid is not underactive (hypothyroidism). Stool softeners are fine. Osmotic laxatives such as MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) are ok too. But try to avoid stimulant laxatives like exlax to minimize dependency.
