Slight chance: With current techniques the recurrence rate is very small , one time used to be any where 3 to 8 % , by 3 rd yr you did not have recurrence probably will not get recurrence , as most of the recurrences will occur in first year, you should do everything you want to do , that is the reason you had surgery.

A chance: There is a chance of recurrence depending on the experience of your surgeon. I give my post-op hernia patients no restrictions, especially 3 years later.
