Many: Depending on the severity of acne and potential triggers, there are topically applied treatments as well as oral medications or even light therapies which can be used. If mild, over the counter salicylic acid andbenzoyl peroxide products can be useful. If more severe, then i recommend being evaluated by a physician to implement a treatment plan, either primary car to start and then a dermatologist.

Many options: Mild acne can be treated with over-the-counter topicals such as salicylic acid, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide. Moderate to severe acne requires prescriptions meds such as topical antibiotics, adapalene, tretinoin, tazarotene, azelaic acid, oral antibiotics. Accutane may be required for severe cystic acne. Also may consider oral contraceptives or anti-androgen (ie: yaz).
