I'm wondering why are generic medications still so expensive?

Difficult to make: Medications have to be cooked up like a complex fancy meal at a restaurant with many ingredients. Some are very complex molecules. People will pay $100 bucks for restaurant food but complain about something that took decades to develop and hundreds of professionals to make.
