Speak simply: Individuals with bdd simply don't see their bodies the way that others do. It is a relative standard. Relative only to you, not them. Ask for understanding and reassurance. You will need to listen to others who pay compliments or challenge your bdd. Friends and boyfriends are well intentioned. The comments they make are motivated by affection and care.
