Bleaching Creams: Brown discolorations on face can occur with hormonal changes of pregnancy, excessive sun exposure, and after rashes or skin injury in those people with darker skin types. The most commonly used lightening creams contain hydroquinone, and the 2% is otc. The stronger 4% requires a prescription, and commonly is used twice a day for 2-3 months, along with a daily sunblock. Please see a dermatologist.
