A member asked:

What should you eat if you have irritable bowel syndrome and what should you avoid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IBS: That's a very difficulty question to answer since different people react differently to various foods. Common sense would be - avoid overeating, foods that are known to take time to digest - high fat, fried foods. Caffeine is a known irritant, so avoid that. Some may not like diary due to worsening diarrhea. If you're on the loose side, fiber rich foods can make you worse. Try and find what works!
