Kerosene Aspiration: Kerosene aspiration can be a respiratory emergency because the oil is highly inflammatory to lung tissue and the damage to the tissue severely impairs the lungs' normal defense against foreign particles and bacteria. The oil can also carry germs from the throat into the lungs. Your friend needs to have his oxygen checked promptly, a chest x-ray, and possible hospitalization. Go to ed.
