Inflammation: "vaginitis" is a general term meaning inflammation of the vagina. Infection is one cause, but there can be others. Historically the most common infections are yeast (candidiasis, ) trichomoniasis, and bacterial vaginosis (not really an -itis.) she must be examined by a doctor to tell any more.
