Normal body temp: Although a fever technically is any body temperature above the normal of 98.6 degrees f. (37 degrees c.), in practice a person is usually not considered to have a significant fever until the temperature is above 100.4 degrees f (38 degrees c.).

Temp isn't the issue: Normal body temp is 97.8f. A low grade fever is 100.4f and high grade fever is 101.4f and above. 99.5f is not bad. However, if diarrhea is frequent, abdominal pain is present, and you feel worse, these symptoms are more concerning and should prompt you to get a clinical re-evaluation as quickly as possible.
