2 weeks...: 2 weeks for non-contact sports should be fine, but likely 4 weeks for contact sports. Ask his ENT specifically after the surgery as he will know how much bleeding and tissue there was to remove.

Adenoid recovery: Every child is different and i defer to your surgeon. With that said, if the child is only getting adenoidectomy (not tonsillectomy) then the recovery involves being congested with extra mucous and bad breath for 1-2 weeks. Minimal sore throat. Normal diet. Back to school in 1-2 days. Some docs say no activity for a week but as long as they feel okay i don't restrict activity in these kids.
