Flu: Annual flu shots lessen the burden but wont prevent actually getting the flu. Further, once you've had to flu strain in season, not likely to get same infection again. Rarely you can be infected with 2 different strains in one season, but less likely. Would suspect routine upper respiratory infection over recurrent flu. Allergen also can mimic recurrent infection outside of flu season in the north.
