Asymmetry: Breast asymmetry is present among many patients. In some instances, asymmetry is more visible when the size, position and shape of each breast differ. Breast augmentation, breast lift and breast reduction are common procedures utilized to correct asymmetry and improve the overall look and shape of both breasts to achieve a symmetrical illusion.

More common than not: Usually, breasts are more like sisters than twins. Like the two sides of the face, they are rarely identical, but should look related. I rarely see a patient who has identical breasts. The ribs, muscles, breast tissue, skin and nipples all have some variation to them. When significant asymmetry exists, plastic surgery can help, but small differences are usually best left alone.
