Stop alcohol: The first thing is stop alcohol until you find out how much damage your liver has suffered. Make sure you have been vaccinated against hepatitis a and b if not previously exposed. Go to a specialist who can help you figure out the kind of hepatitis c you have (genotype) and how much scarring (fibrosis) there is. This can be done with a blood test. These will help you know how and when to be cured.
