Yes: Stress can cause a "vasovagal reaction" where your blood pressure drops, your start sweating causing dizziness and faiting (kind of like fainting when you get blood drawn in people afraid of needles) . Also stress can cause hyperventilation causing fainting, .

Sure can: This is the classic picture of "swooning" from screen and stage where the character, upon receiving some startling or otherwise dramatic news, faints, with dramatic music in the background, of course. In real life, this is caused by a drop in blood pressure due to a vasovagal response brought on by a strong emotional reaction. Very common and generally harmless (unless you hit your head!).
