OtherIssues&Slightly: BUN=blood urea nitrogen, a breakdown product of proteins being burned. So rates of protein breakdown, combined with the amount of H20 it is in, determine the BUN (a concentration within extracellular water). CO2 (carbonic acid in water) from burning fats is primarily determined by rate of breathing (blowing off CO2) & is the primary brain driver for breathing rate (along with exercise & anxiety).
