Mosquito Bites: Most mosquito bites stop itching and heal on their own without medical treatment. Topical treatments apply a Hydrocortisone cream or calamine lotion to bites. A cold pack or baggie filled with crushed ice may help, too. Oral antihistamines for stronger reactions, taking an antihistamine containing Diphenhydramine (benadryl), chlorpheniramine (chlor-trimeton), Loratadine (claritin) or cetirizine.

Allergic 2 mosquito?: Some have large local reactions to mosquito bites. Try soaking in cool water bath with domeboro's powder (follow box-directions), then apply an otc Hydrocortisone preparation (usually 0.5 - 1%). If no change after 1-2 days, go see a doctor. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) only helps the itch.
