Blue light: Most often blue light therapy (photodynamic therapy) is done by a dermatologist. It involves painting the treated area with a photosensitive agent (aminolevulenic acid-ala) and allowing it to be absorbed into the skin. Then the area is illuminated with blue (or red) light. In the right patient it can be a useful treatment.
